Alvaro "Chevere" Tarquino was born in Bogotá D.C./ Colombia where he began his musical career, initially playing Rock.
He joined different bands (Gran Sociead del Estado, terron de sueños) until he created the group "MALANGA" with
Chucho Merchan (later played the Bass with Eurythmics, Pete Townsed u.m. ),
Alexei Restrepo, Augusto Martelo and Carlos Alvarez.
Malanga was playing many concerts in and out from Colombia with many sucess. The band dissolve because Merchan wents to study in London Cambrige and Martelo to San Francisco.
So Alvaro traveled to the U.S where he played with different musicians and was able to increase his knowledge and expertise.
After this he traveled to Spain where he became a member of the group "COLUMNA de FUEGO".
It was in Madrid that he became known as "Chevere".
He was a very much sought after musician and joined the band DOLORES founded by Pedro Ruy Blas , recording the album "La puerta Abierta" and then "La Danza del Fuego" with flamenco master Paco de Lucia.

Chevere began playing Jazz fusion and had the chane to play with the legendary bassist Charles Mingus, at the International
Jazz Festival San Sebastian
and concerts together with Weather Report.

Then he moved to Germany, near the city of Kassel, where he works with local musicians and is a drums & percussion teacher. He created the group "CLUB of ROAM" with Norbert Müller and Ralf Burczyk,
recording 5 CD's The money from the producion "Ye" they spend for the fondation from Chucho Merchan
FONEVA.

With Diego Jascalevich, Matthias Millhoff and Thorsten Lastinger he founded 1999 the Band Mezcla Pura . With this Band was playing guestmusicans like Rhani Krija and Mingo Lewis.
In Dec. 2000 and 2001 Alvaro Chevere T. recorded with the Jascalevich-Ensamble in the GALAXY-Studios (Moll Belgium)
on the new recording system SACD
together with mit Paul Reynolds, Hein Dekker und Ronald Prent,

He played some concerts with the Maroquian El Houssaine Kili. and Recorded in pw-musik Kassel for he Compositor Jürgen Schneider.
Also he was invided to play with the band Milestone in Denver-Colorado/USA.
Since 2001 he plays the drums by
MORPHEUS. ,
a progressive Jazz-Rock Band founded on 1975 .
On May 2002 they realised the Album "For a Second" and played with grear sucsess on july at the famos Herzbergfestival

In the beginning of 2002 he founded the group
CONO SUR
with the argentine Guitarist Marcos Goncalves.

Also he founded FRUTOS TROPICALES - Latin Band witch presented the first Europatour Sabor a Guayaba in 2002 in Germany, Austria and Swizerland..
With FRUTOS TROPICALES are playing Musicans from the international Musicscene.
The Band still exists and is playing always with great success

In 2004 Alvaro was playing some concerts with

Since Okt.2004 he playes the drums for
BIG EASY

Since Feb.2006 he playes with the Trio
MIKADO

On July 2006 he prepaired for the tour from
PACHANGA

In October 2006 he playes some concerts in Germany with his old friend Javier Vargas VARGAS BLUES BAND
Soest,Lörsch, Hannover)

On Nov. 2006 he travel with
the Karibik Steelpan Group
to Singapore

Since May 2007 he plays on tour with
VARGAS BLUES BAND
